Clinical Coding Auditor/EducatorHealth Information ServicesCalvary Mater NewcastlePermanent Full-TimeSalary Classification: Health Services Manager Level 2Remuneration: $109,857 - $129,624 per annum + superannuation + salary packaging options designed to reduce your taxable income and increase your take-home payTHE ROLE:We are looking for a qualified, passionate, advanced Clinical Coder with experience in conducting clinical coding audits and education to join our Health Information team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting regular coding audits, provision of coding education to the team, education of clinicians on clinical documentation, DRG and activity-based funding and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role offers a hybrid work model providing flexibility to work remotely.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct comprehensive coding audits to identify areas of improvement and implement strategies to enhance coding accuracyLead and provide ongoing coding education to support team growth and professional developmentPrepare and deliver education and training activities to the coding teamEducate clinicians on clinical documentation improvement, DRG and activity-based fundingTimely and accurate completion of clinical coding using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and the provision of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs); adhere to the Australian Coding Standards when interpreting documentation for coding purposes Learn more about our community and services here!ABOUT YOU:Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent tertiary qualification) or Clinical Coding qualification or completion of Clinical coding auditing course and be eligible for full HIMAA membershipDemonstrated auditing experience in a tertiary hospital with sound knowledge of audit processes and data integrity.Minimum of 3-5 years coding experience in abstracting and coding across a wide case mix in a private or public health facilitySound understanding of Australian and NSW Coding StandardsKnowledge of developing, designing and implementing training programs for coders and clinical documentation improvement recommendationsHighly technical and Analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex data and report on trends advanced skills including report writing and pivot tablesThorough understanding of NSW Policy and funding guidelines and NSW Admitted Episodes DatasetHighly developed Interpersonal, communication and problem solving skillsAbility to maintain the strictest confidentiality in all work matters and commitment to Privacy principles.Commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of Calvary with the ability and desire to uphold these principlesFor further information please contact Lakshmi Devineni, Manager Health Information Services at Lakshmi.Devineni@calvarymater.org.auWHY JOIN US?CMN is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area.
