They are authorised dealers for over 10 major OEM brands including ASV Posi-Track, JCB, XCMG, Develon and Fecon stocking a wide range of machinery from excavators, loaders, skid steers, material handling and graders.Due to significant growth at our clients Western Australian dealership, we are seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager (BDM) to provide business development and account management in Western Australia.The RoleAs a BDM your main focus will be delivering on sales where you will be utilising your experience, skills and established network to generate leads and securing new business.How you do this depends largely on your current skill set, network of contacts within the industry and your ability to make new contacts. You will also be the Face of the Company for this product range, representing it from the boardrooms of St Georges Terrace to construction sites in the Perth metro area through to remote areas throughout Western Australia.You will be required to undertake marketing campaigns, generate new industry contacts, negotiate contracts, strategic planning, learn the technical specifications of the machinery, complete tenders and much much more.Your day may consist of planning for a 4 day regional sales campaign in your region where you are scheduling numerous sales meetings. You then attend a meeting with senior project managers at a large construction firm providing an overview of the range of equipment, technical specifications of machinery and rate schedules for a large construction project through to making first contact via phone with a business owner which you sourced via LinkedIn.The territory for the role is within an approximate 400km radius of Perth where the majority of the clientele are based for this product range being companies carrying out medium to large civil, construction and forestry projects. The product range will include Korean built Develon Mini Excavators, USA built Fecon Forestry Equipment and associated attachments across all products.As a BDM your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, new / used sales and account management where you will be carrying out the following; Sales Leads: Generating by various means from networking, cold calling, demonstrations & industry events Account Management: Developing new and maintaining existing strong client relationships by providing clients with a professional service which may generate repeat business through to client referrals for new business Technical Sales & Support: In-depth knowledge of machinery technical specifications & capabilities in order to provide the best machinery to meet clients requirements. Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences Networking: Developing & building on new & existing industry contacts via social media, industry events & social activities Negotiating: Ability to get sales over the line through client negotiation on terms of business Contract Interpretation: Be familiar with standard machinery sales contracts & service agreements Tenders: Completing tenders for Government or large projects ensuring machinery best fits tender specifications and pricing is competitive & profitable Administration: Following inhouse systems & procedures for tasks such as the CRM, Deal sheets, machinery reports & inspections. Marketing: Assist the national marketing team in developing & implementing targeted marketing campaigns via social media, web, company events & print media. Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.The CandidateIdeally our client would like to secure an experienced BDM with at least 2 years proven sales experience within a similar industry. High on their list is a sales professional that has developed an established network of contacts within a related industry in Western Australia where they are able to utilise their existing network to generate sales.You will also be successful at making and developing new contacts where you are able to get in front of decision makers and win new business through a variety of techniques you are familiar with such as networking and cold calling. Being tenacious, competitive, strategic and most of all putting in the hours through hard work are qualities we are seeking for this role.RemunerationA highly competitive salary package is available, which will include base salary, superannuation, sales commission, vehicle and business tools.
