You will be contributing to our role as the national regulator to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services.About the TeamThe Assessment & Early Remediation Group is responsible for the collection, triage, assessment, early remediation or escalation of 70,000 reportable incidents, notifications concerning the provider governance changes, code of conduct and prudential supervision each year.The Assessment & Early Remediation Group is responsible for:Efficiently collecting the incidents, notifications and other referrals by using fit for purpose reporting forms and systems.Applying sound triaging methodology to inform the urgency and intensity of assessments.Assessing risk using common process to decide if the unmanaged risk requires an escalated regulatory response or can be treated through targeted enquiries.Contributing to build intelligence to inform detection of provider, worker and sector risks and opportunities to strengthen capability through education.The Assessment & Early Remediation Group comprises:A national enabling team known as the Engagement and Operational Support (EOS) team. This team provides enabling functions that includes but is not limited to, subject matter expertise to inform the development of sector education resources (SIRS insights reports, learning modules etc) and engagement with a range of external stakeholders (including Coroners, Police); and supporting the operations with workforce planning, recruitment, induction, professional development, quality assurance, projects, working groups, performance reporting, knowledge management, SharePoint and other systems, travel and procurement.Three Operational teams with two teams focused on reportable incidents that must be reported under the Serious Incident Response Scheme; and one focused on notifications concerning the provider governance changes, code of conduct and prudential reporting and overcharging concerns.About the RoleAs an Assistant Director, Quality Assurance in the Engagement and Operational Support Team you will be responsible for overseeing the Assessment & Early Remediation Groups quality assurance function and ensure adherence to the Commissions quality assurance framework.You will champion quality assurance in the Assessment and Early Remediation Group by leading a team of quality assurance officers to conduct a variety of sampling activities for the purposes of ensuring the groups output accords with legislative adherence, validated evidence, reasoning for decisions and professional writing.Position duties include, but are not limited to:Develop quality assurance workplans and oversee the delivery of quality assurance activities and audit reports relating to how assessment teams are actioning reportable incidents related to the SIRS, and in time, matters related to the code of conduct, financial prudential and change in provider governance.Early risk detection during quality assurance activities and escalate contentious findings to the Director and explore remediation options.Share quality assurance recommendations with the other areas within EOS such as the training and capability team to co-design training products for frontline areas.Manage a team of direct reports including discharging HR delegations, managing performance and building a positive team culture.Create and lead a continuous improvement forum which implements quality assurance recommendations and drives continuous improvement culture within the broader group.Act as proxy chair for the EOS Director and facilitate monthly forum meetings.Maintain the A&ERs suite of knowledge management pages in accordance with the commissions knowledge management architecture and is fit for purpose.Salary offered will be between $118,588 - $135,251 per annum depending on skills and experience.
