This role involves delivering crucial safety oversight for our project at Melbourne Airport. It''s a unique and dynamic site-based position that promises high visibility and impact, allowing you to make a tangible difference in the safety and success of major infrastructure project.In this role, you''ll have the chance to demonstrate and further develop your leadership skills and work alongside some of the best in the industry, broadening your expertise in civil construction safety.Building trusting relationships with the site management team will be key to achieving key safety objectives, as you will need to work closely with them to integrate safety practices into every aspect of the project. By promoting awareness and education around safety procedures and policies, you''ll help continue to build a culture of safety that benefits everyone involved.In this role you''ll be responsible for:Implementing, educating and driving awareness of safety procedures, policies, SWMS, and processesConduct audits, site inspections and walkthroughsManage incident investigation, reports and recommending practical actions to prevent recurrencesLead and actively participate in pre-start meetings and toolbox talksLead effective communication with Client safety stakeholdersAssist operational teams in complying with the HSE Management systemSupport risk identification and management processes to improve worker risk awareness of work activities.How you''ll connect to the role:To be successful in this role, it is desirable that you hold a Diploma in WHS/OHS and have over 10 years of experience within the civil construction industry. You must possess a valid driver''s licence and have the ability to obtain aviation security clearance. A strong passion for delivering safety and educating risk awareness is essential, along with knowledge of ICAM incident investigation methodology. Experience in conducting safety audits and providing safety training is crucial.You will need to effectively liaise and interact with stakeholders and subcontractors on HSE deliverables, lead and support the development and growth of the Safety team and build trusting relationships with the site management team to achieve key safety objectives.
