You will operate in Microsoft Azure, on an established data platform, providing solutions for operational teams across the business. You will work to deliver new data pipelines and modelling to help Covalent build a data and information driven organisation. The role requires end-to-end work, engaging stakeholders and understanding source systems to build and deploy new pipelines and datasets for integration and reporting purposes.This is a Permanent Full-time position based at our Perth Head Office.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical/Functional/Role:Effectively collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop data integration capabilities that support business objectives.Consult and collaborate with business users, project teams, vendors and Business Managers to deliver raw and transformed dataset that solve business problems.Understand raw data from source systems through data discovery and analysis to contextualise and align with business needs.Build secure, scalable and performant solutions on our Digital Data Platform using Azure Data Factory, Databricks and similar Azure based tools.Work directly with Mining and Refining engineers, leveraging and growing your business experience to understand, optimise and improve operations with data and systems.Work with Architects, Developers and Technology SMEs to design and develop pipelines that deliver data from disparate sources into the platform, and model them into robust dimensional models.Work with source control and CI/CD tools to deploy cloud resources and code in an iterative, agile environment.Follow and maintain data governance processes relating to data ownership, approval and cataloguing.Health, Safety, Environment and CommunityActive participation in the establishment of a health and safety culture.Active participation in Covalent Lithiums core values (Care, Purpose, Collaboration, and Accountability).Undertake all work in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements and Covalent policies & procedures.Ensure effective working relationships are built and maintained with other departments and stakeholders, both internal and external.Work in an agile team to identify and document user stories, deliver code and ensure delivery.Contribute as a member of the Covalent team in establishing our desired organisational culture.Role RequirementsBachelors degree in computer science, Information Management, Information Technology or Engineering (desirable), or equivalent experience.Minimum 3 years experience in application development, integration or data engineering.Good understanding of Data Warehousing and ETL concepts.Strong skills in Python and SQL.Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory (or Fabric pipelines).Prior Mining or Refinery Operations Experience.Strong Azure Cloud skills ability to manage and configure cloud resources for Storage, Compute, Security and Data.Experience with CI/CD tools (Terraform, Jenkins, ARM, CloudFormation) and their use in deployment pipelines.Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and git.Microsoft Certifications in Azure are desirable.Exceptional interpersonal and customer relationship skills.Ability to work autonomously in completion of tasks, and collaboratively as part of an Agile Delivery Team.A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the role, candidate experience, skills and qualifications will be offered.Our team members are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.
