Our team is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our members, who are vital to our communities, including health, education, and community services sectors.About the RoleThis newly created hybrid position within our People and Culture team involves providing expert advice on health, safety, wellbeing, risk, and compliance across the organization. The WH&S and Risk Specialist will support the development and implementation of policies, programs, and practices to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.Key ResponsibilitiesWorkplace Health and SafetyProvide expert guidance to leaders and teams on WH&S matters.Ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations through ongoing policy review and updates.Lead initiatives to improve employee health, safety, and wellbeing.Manage incident reporting, investigations, and interactions with regulators.Handle Workcover claims and develop return-to-work plans.Implement ergonomic and safety strategies proactively.Collaborate with teams to develop training, resources, and compliance programs.Risk and ComplianceAdvise on risk management and compliance strategies within People & Culture.Develop and refine policies, processes, and reporting frameworks.Design and monitor preventive plans addressing identified risks, including psychosocial hazards.Promote awareness and proactive management of risks related to health, safety, and wellbeing.About YouYou have experience in workplace health and safety, preferably within large corporates or consulting environments. You are skilled in managing Workcover claims, engaging with regulators, and developing frameworks, policies, and incident reporting processes.
