Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.The opportunityWe have an opportunity for a Junior Cost Controller to join the Perth team giving support to the Maintenance & Engineering cost control functions.Providing additional support to the areas of cost analysis to identify operational opportunities and risks, including P2P process facilitation, end of month cost reporting, budget analysis and development, contractor timesheets management and other cost controlling tasks.This role is Perth based working in our CBD office.To be successful in the role, the following is essential:A Tertiary qualification in Finance or other related field is desirableHigh level of attention to detailProven experience in a Cost Administration position or similarProficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookExpert user in the application of an ERP systemPrevious experience in a mining, oil & gas or other heavy industry would be favouredNational Police ClearanceBi-lingual (Chinese & English) is highly desirableTo be eligible to apply for this role, you must be legally permitted to work permanently in Australia.Key responsibilities include:Assist Senior Cost Controller for major contractor cost analysis by collecting and compiling informationRaise purchase requisitions in SAPVerify invoices against Labour Request Forms, Contract T&Cs, and FIFO records to ensure charges are correctReceipt invoices in SAP to ensure timely processing of Vendor InvoicesReconcile vendor timesheets and upload into SAP to record labour cost for EOM purposeUpdate the vendor register regularly to ensure YTD expenditures are up-to-dateAssist the Maintenance team with vendor enquiries regarding invoices and purchasing ordersGeneral support to the Senior Cost Controller and the Maintenance TeamProvide other administration duties as requiredAbout Karara MiningLocated 200 km south-east of Geraldton in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.
