The role sits within the Commercial Business Unit of NSW Telco Authority.About the role:An exciting ongoing opportunity has arisen for a Principal Procurement Officer to join NSW Telco Authority within the Department of Customer Service.The successful candidate will:Be an enterprising individual and play a key role in the helping the organisation receive accreditation for both goods and services, and construction procurement. Experience in government accreditation is crucial.Develop, lead and execute sourcing strategies to optimize value for money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations.Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimize negative impacts on sourcing objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation.Lead the design and implementation of effective metrics and reporting to continually monitor and assess the performance of individual procurement arrangements and the benefits realised for the commercial function.Provide expert, strategic advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement to encourage innovative practices and support the delivery of business and policy directionsIn conjunction, review and analysis of the organisation''s business plans, services, processes and information to identify changes that lead to business improvements. The role supports the efficient delivery of business operations and performance as they relate to the Public Safety Network (PSN) - a radio network that supports first responder communication.Key accountabilitiesTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:Good understanding and knowledge of accreditation process and requirementsProcurement policies and procedures design and implementation planningBackground in telecommunication procurement for both goods and services and construction categoriesExperience in procurement manual creation and compliance models.The candidate is required to have experience of the telecommunications industry, especially construction procurement and significant commercial analysis knowledge.
