Working closely with the Port Manager and our national technical team, youll help shape our technical approach while solving real-world challenges.Were open to supporting relocation for the right candidate.What Youll Be DoingReporting into the local Port Manager, youll be responsible for:Providing technical guidance on fleet condition and vessel availabilityOverseeing planned maintenance and procurement systems, and supporting day-to-day crew managementPreparing dry-docking specs, setting maintenance budgets, and monitoring spendPlanning maintenance schedules, labour needs, and work programs in partnership with the teamEnsuring all vessels meet survey and compliance obligationsManaging stores, spare parts, and local procurementCoordinating repairs, inspections, and equipment supply to align with operational requirementsWhat Were Looking ForTo thrive in this role, you should have:Marine engineering experience, ideally supported by a maritime or trade qualificationExperience leading engineering teams and coordinating external service contractorsStrong technical knowledge of diesel engines, power generation, propulsion and hydraulicsFamiliarity with classification societies and vessel compliance and certification processes.A proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Competency with MS Office and a foundational understanding of network hardware and system architecture.A willingness to travel to port locations as required to meet operational needs.Building a Diverse WorkplaceIn Svitzer we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious beliefs.
