You will be based at the 305-bed main referral hospital, in a newly established building boasting state-of-the-art medical equipment. The hospital has four operating theatres and two procedure rooms. The operating theatre complex is supported by an 8-bed Intensive Care/High Dependency Unit.The Psychiatric Department at this hospital consists of the Mental Health Service Inpatient Unit, Older Persons Inpatient Unit, a Paediatric ward, Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit, Community Care Unit, Extended Care Rehabilitation Unit and a Step-Up Step-Down Unit. The services offered include consultation-liaison psychiatry, Prison Mental Health Services, psycho-geriatrics, Indigenous mental health services and Electro-convulsive Therapy. As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will contribute to the provision of clinical excellence and patient-centred care across a wide range of presentations. You will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team on a varied and challenging casemix, supported by Consultants, Registrars, Junior Medical Officers and Mental Health Nurses.
