We value collaboration and partnership, and we are proud to have built long-standing relationships with our clients, contractors and suppliers.About The RoleSBP Australia is looking for a proactive and experienced WHS Coordinator to support site and project leadership in ensuring workplace health and safety compliance, based on site in Bendigo, Victoria.Hours of work are flexible, at a minimum must be 6.30am to 1pm Mon-Fri on site, for the duration of the project (nominally 9-12 months with the possibility of extension). A permanent role will be negotiable for the right candidate.In this hands-on role, you''ll play a vital part in maintaining site safety standards, conducting inspections, delivering inductions, and proactively managing risks and incidents.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Site Supervisor in managing daily WHS requirementsConduct site audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are implementedManage site permits, contractor onboarding, and review SWMS and SDS submissions using 1Breadcrumb and ProcoreInvestigate incidents and implement corrective actionsBe the central point of contact and communicate with the site team, contractors, and leadership on safety mattersFacilitate and oversee site-specific inductions, ensuring proper worker onboarding and compliance with training requirements through 1BreadcrumbMaintain site WHS records and documentation, ensuring alignment with SBP Australia and client safety management plansSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace health and safety standardsQualifications & ExperienceMinimum 3 - 5 years experience in a WHS role within constructionStrong knowledge of the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Codes of Practice, and industry standardsExcellent communication skills with confidence in engaging with site teamsExperience and confidence using WHS management platforms such as Procore and 1BreadcrumbWHS qualifications such as Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher)Essential: First Aid Certificate, General Construction Industry CardPreferred: Relevant High-Risk Licenses (e.g., work at heights, forklift, scissor lift, elevated work platform, confined spaces)About YouWere looking for someone with:A proactive and positive approach to workplace health and safetyComfortable working on-site, collaborating with team members, contractors, and interacting with stakeholdersStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify and assess risks and resolve safety challenges on-siteA passion for ensuring the well-being of teams and maintaining high safety standardsAt SBP Australia, we invest in our people for the long term.
