We provide free digital mental health support services and run a variety of mental health awareness, stigma reduction, research, and advocacy programs. We support diverse workforce segments, including those living with complex mental health issues, and the broader community. We are 100+ people with a volunteer work force of circa 60 people.Community Builders are integral to nurturing a vibrant, supportive online community, focusing primarily on building community connections and upholding community guidelines to maintain community and member safety. This role involves online interaction with members, facilitating discussions, providing support, identifying member needs, and contributing insights for service improvement.Community Builders act as the frontline of community engagement, working alongside Community Guide volunteers to enhance the forum experience for individuals with lived experience of complex mental health conditions, carers, family and friends.Key responsibilities of this role include:Spend the majority of shifts directly monitoring, prompting and engaging with a wide range of forum members, across spaces through discussions, and prompting community engagement and recovery-orientated support.Support members active during the overnight period to practice skills in self-care and sleep hygiene, through recovery focused coaching and strengths-based guidance aligned to SANEs CHIME frameworkImplement actions to uphold the community guidelines consistently in accordance with moderation procedures, taking appropriate actions, such as removing or editing content that violates guidelines, communicating with members about actions taken, and enacting sanctions where requiredFacilitate opportunities for members to share lived experience, develop and test new skills and build social connections.Provide psychosocial support, fostering opportunities for collaboration, connection and learning.Work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary Services team to contribute to high quality, safe and recovery oriented mental health services.About YouQualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related fieldYou have significant experience working in mental health service delivery supporting people with complex needs to safely cope, manage their distress and de-escalate situations, youve worked as a mental health nurse or social worker in complex settings, and you bring deep hope and empathy.You love technology and have professional experience and competence using online forums, computers, software systems or other online communication boards (such as Reddit, Facebook Communities, Whirlpool forums etcYou understand the principles of recovery-oriented practice.If this sounds like an exciting opportunity for you, please apply now!Whats in it for you?A friendly and collaborative environmentAdditional days of cultural and ceremonial leaveNFP Salary packaging & benefits- reduce your taxable income by up to $18,550 per annum!How to applyTo apply, please submit your resume and cover letter via the Apply Now link, addressing the four questions below:List your relevant qualifications for this role.How many years experience have you got in mental health service delivery, triage, risk assessment and de-escalation?How soon are you available to start?Do you have a private room with a lockable door and a home internet connection with a minimum 100MBPS download speed?Interested?Applications will be reviewed as they come in so, please Apply Now!SANE is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we are proud champions of lived experience.
