We are dedicated to improving health outcomes and ensuring the well-being of our clients through comprehensive and culturally appropriate health services.Position Description:The purpose of the position is to manage a caseload of families and deliver interventions in accordance with approved case management protocols to enhance the capacity of a family to keep their children safely at home. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Wellbeing Service will work with families with children that are subject to ongoing intervention by Child Safety Services or require early intervention responses that prevent children from entering the statutory child protection system. The Family Wellbeing Officer role is an Identified position. It is a genuine occupational requirement that an Identified position be filled by an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person, as permitted by and arguable under section 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act (1991). Please note this is a Fixed Term contract with an end date 31st December 2027Responsibilities:Provide support and culturally appropriate intervention strategies toAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and familiesUndertake assessments and interventions in accordance with approved case management protocolsMonitor and review agreed case plan goals and responsibilities with clientsAdvocate on behalf of clients and provide support to achieve case plan goalsImplement regular case review conferences, case evaluation and client exit strategiesDevelop and maintain working relationships with service providers to enable shared case management, referral pathways and ongoing support for clients after exiting the ServiceGather and record statistical data relevant to measuring performance against agreed indicators and participate in review and evaluation activitiesQualifications & Experience:Qualification/ Certificate in Certificate IV in Community Services (Protective Care), Diploma in Community Services and or ability to obtainPossess a current drivers licencePossess, or be eligible for, a Blue Card (for suitability to work with children and young people)Consent to a broader criminal history check, where relevantCurrent First Aide Certificate and or ability to obtain prior to start dateCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTEmployment is conditional upon the following:Vaccination or confirmed non-susceptibility to Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs) during employment, including measles, mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Pertussis (whooping cough) and strongly recommended to be vaccinated against Covid-19.Proof of qualifications and current registration (where appropriate) claimed in a job application must be provided prior to commencement of employment.A Criminal History Check (AFP) will be conducted upon commencement of employmentAbility and willingness to travel to, and work at all Mamu Health Service Limiteds work location and service area when required.About Ravenshoe:Ravenshoe is on the Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland, it is the highest town in Queensland at 920 metres above sea level, is a lush region of mountain pastures and un-spoiled World Heritage rainforest.How to Apply:To be eligible for interview, applicants must respond to the selection criteria in the position description and provide an identified reference a copy can be obtained by visiting our website www.mamuhsl.org.au or emailing JBrowne@mamuhsl.org.au; applicants who do not provide this will not be considered.
