South Australian State Emergency ServiceJob reference: 676825Location: 5035 - KESWICKJob status: Long Term ContractEligibility: Open to EveryonePrimary PurposeThe position involves undertaking and supporting functions related to the SASES remotely piloted aircraft service (RPAS) program. The position will:Undertake the operational role of Deputy Chief Remote Pilot and Maintenance Coordinator, responsible for reviewing and approving flight plans to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, in conjunction with the Chief Remote Pilot.Conduct audits of RPA operations and provide detailed reports.Contribute to fleet purchasing and oversee fleet maintenance requirements.Undertake program needs analysis with reference to the agencys RPA Operations Library/Manual, as well as community risk profiles and incident response rates.Work closely with relevant stakeholders in development, coordination and maintenance of the program, including relevant doctrine, risk management, Safe Work Practices and other program inputs.Undertake development and regular review of training resources, including research, collaboration with subject matter experts and a program stakeholder group to ensure currency, quality and alignment with relevant legislation, organisational policies and procedures and industry developments.Manage content relevant to the program and communicate with members via the volunteer portal and other channels.Build and maintain structure and capacity for RPA pilots (staff and volunteers) within the programCoordinate and deliver training, ensuring all related administrative tasks and record management are efficiently completed.Undertake projects related to the program as required, including scoping, developing project plans, and monitoring to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.Essential QualificationsOperating in a highly public and politically sensitive environment.Operating in an environment of budgetary constraint.Maintaining services across geographically dispersed centres.Balancing competing demands and priorities.Establishing a culture of continuous improvementRemunerationASO5$85,790 - $95,413Special ConditionsEngagement will be subject to a satisfactory Emergency Services Sector Criminal History Check.
