With strong programs in sport, music, and student leadership, the school fosters a positive learning culture supported by dedicated staff and engaged families.Your OpportunityAs The Head Of Department (Curriculum), You WillLead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiativesParticipate in delivering the vision of State Schools DivisionDevelop the quality of teaching and learningNurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.The Head of Department (Curriculum) is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Head of Department (Curriculum), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Facilitate data-informed conversations with school leaders and teaching staff to review data and other forms of evidence in order to effectively identify kindergarten curriculum priority areas, specifically within National Quality Standard (NQS) Quality Area 1 - Educational Program and Practice.Support other state schools in embedding identified kindergarten curriculum priority areas into school performance planning documents, and provide mentorship and model teaching practices where appropriate and required to support the delivery of a quality kindergarten program.Support state school leaders and teaching staff, including the development and delivery of induction programs, to identify and utilise quality-assured central office resources and professional learning.Partner with colleagues, including Senior Advisors, to facilitate local collaboration and support other state schools with programs to implement the curriculum equitably across regions.Work with regional staff, including school supervisors, to monitor the implementation and continuous improvement of kindergarten curriculum priority areas throughout the year.This position can be undertaken within the Central Queensland region and may be based in Gladstone, Rockhampton, Mackay, or Emerald; travel is required for this role.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
