You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.About the roleAs a member of the Customer Services & Accessibility team the Station Assistant assists the Services Officer and Services Manager in the operation of the facilities and customer services activities at the station. The Station Assistant is required to maintain the delivery of service to customers ensuring the provision of best possible train and coach services to V/Line passengers.This position is responsible for providing staff a safe work place where risks are identified, understood and managed and a safe environment for customers and visitors is maintained.Key accountabilities include:Assist with on time running of scheduled rail servicesHandling of Green Star parcels, inwards, outwards and daily cash balanceBuild co-operative networks with internal and external customersManage customers issues and complaints and provide support for customers using desktop IT applicationsAssisting in the overall presentation and cleaning of the stationOversee and ensure the safe operation of the coach interchangePassenger assistance and handling of lost propertyRegular inspection of the station to ensure standards are being maintainedAbout youOur ideal candidate will possess the following:Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalentAbility to adapt to changing environmentsPrevious extensive experience in a customer service and operational environmentStrong verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skillsStrong safety culture and willingness to adhere to the company valuesIf your skills or experience dont exactly match our listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply.
