A newly developed position, the Communications & Marketing Assistant provides support across the Helpmann Academy team to promote opportunities to our target audiences and develop compelling written and visual content to drive engagement across our social media platforms. The role will also manage our E-News content and database, and report on website and social analytics.ABOUT USThe Helpmann Academy empowers South Australias rising emerging creatives to realise their visions and build sustainable practices. Helpmann Academy provides professional development opportunities including grants, awards, fellowships, mentorships, masterclasses, advisory services, and international artist residencies, all tailored specifically for South Australias higher education students, tertiary graduates, and emerging artists.The Helpmann Academy is a unique collaborative partnership, unifying the skills and resources of our state''s universities. Since 1994, the Helpmann Academy has been empowering emerging creatives, promoting South Australia as a centre for excellence in creative education, and contributing to the artistic community of the state.RESPONSIBLE TO: Communications & Marketing ManagerTERMS:3 days per week (negotiable). Out-of-hours work (evenings/weekends) will be required. Salary is $60,000 pro-rata + superannuation.As Helpmann Academy is subject to funding agreements, this position is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract basis,subject to a six-month probation period.RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIESContent creation, planning, scheduling and management of our social channelsContent creation, planning and scheduling for our fortnightly e-News through Campaign MonitorCreation of engaging video content / reels and still graphics for social media and websiteWriting and website publishing of news posts, program information, and eventsBrainstorming and planning new content ideas to tell the story of the Helpmann Academy to elevate and promote the brandCopywriting (supported by interviews and / or desktop research) of long form digital stories for our website news section and Annual MagazineAssist with copywriting media releases and brochure content (working with content specialists in the team)Create design assets for marketing and events materials in accordance with our Brand Style GuideMaintain best practice and keep up-to-date with current trends with website and social media platforms user experience and target audience engagementAssist with the creation of branded PowerPoint presentationsSupport collation of quarterly analysis and reporting for social media, E-News engagement, database growth, and media / public relations reach and frequencyProofreading content for E-News, website articles and page posts, Annual Magazine articles and media releasesManage marketing assets and image library assisting with selection for use across promotional materials and channelsManagement of the Helpmann Academy E-News databaseWork closely with the Communications & Marketing Manager to support Programs and EngagementOUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE1+ years'' experience in a social media content / upload / boosting, journalism or marketing assistant type role1+ years'' experience in content creation (InDesign or Canva) and productionBachelor''s degree in marketing, media, journalism, or a related fieldExperience working in a busy office environmentProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office and Google DriveAble to manage multiple tasks and work independently to drive content creationExcellent attention to detail, proof reading and ensuring brand guidelines are adhered to and deadlines metAbility to collaborate with the Helpmann Academy team and key suppliers / partner businessesEffective organisational and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsProficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign) and / or Canva to support graphic design skills for social media content creationLegal right to work without restrictionsValid drivers license (preferred, but not essential)PERSONAL ATTRIBUTESPositive outlook and willingness to assist othersAbility to integrate quickly into a dynamic team environmentWarm and friendly mannerCourteous and efficient dealings with a varied range of stakeholdersInterest and passion for the artsHonest and integrity with attitude to working relationshipsTake initiative with problem solving - helping solve issues with realistic effective and efficient suggestionsKEY SELECTION CRITERIAProven strong understanding of social media platforms and algorithms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTokExperience writing media releases, and / or online content, with a focus on storytelling (preferred)Demonstrated skills in social media reel production and publishing; ideally proficiency with video editing software and social media video toolsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently to create and re-purpose content for public relations, social media, website and E-NewsAPPLICATIONS SHOULD INCLUDEA cover letter outlining why you are the right candidate for this role(no more than two pages)A response to each of the six key selection criteria(including examples of demonstrated experience or knowledge)A current CVAPPLICATION PROCESSPlease address your application to Kate Zealand, Communications & Marketing Manager, Helpmann AcademyApplications must be submitted via our website (using the online application formApplications via SEEK or emailed directly will not be consideredApplications close Monday 16 June 2025 at 11:59pm.
