We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes with one purpose in mind to help young people live their healthiest lives.Click here to learn more about our NetworkAdditional InformationAn eligibility list may be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.What You''ll Be DoingThe Biomedical Engineer will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Biomedical Engineer and will provide Engineering support for the operations of the Department.This role is a developmental role for a Biomedical Engineer with some clinical experience beyond the university training they have undertaken. It is intended to develop awareness in all facets of Biomedical Engineering and to gain competence in medical technology management.Management of Water Quality, compliance of the organisation with relevant Australian standards and support to clinical services are the primary purposes of the role.A degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognised University or College of Advanced Education.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Outlook, Excel) and willingness to learn systemsFormal study (University level) of basic Anatomy and Physiology.Demonstrated experience with medical equipment and/or a clinical environment.Knowledge of SolidWorks, a related CAD program or associated 3D modelling software.Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO13485 and ACHS Accreditation StandardsCurrent unrestricted NSW drivers licenseFor roles that require formal qualifications, please note that overseas qualifications must be assessed by the Department of Education or the relevant authority appointed by the Australian Government for skilled migration purposes.SCHN is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values diversity - we acknowledge the vibrancy that a diverse workforce brings to enhance both our workplace culture and our service delivery to children, young people and their families and carers.
