Cancer Council 13 11 20 Information and Support service is one of Cancer Council SAs main interfaces with the community, responding to enquiries about all aspects of cancer. It provides best practice, evidence-based information and support to all people accessing the service.About The RoleThe 13 11 20 Outreach nurse - metro, increases the reach and relevance of Cancer Council SA through effective and mutually beneficial relationships with health professionals, ensuring there is a clear pathway in place for referral to Cancer Council13 11 20 and support services. This sees a greater number of South Australians accessing appropriate information and support in a timely manner.Based primarily in the Flinders Precinct, Bedford Park, this telephone and online based role responds to Cancer Council 13 11 20 consumer needs by providing comprehensive, credible information, psychological support and referral to internal and external services. The position supplements existing cancer services and ensures that all individuals have timely access to cancer information and support.Skills and Experiences:About YouEssential qualifications:Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, with a minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience, including a minimum of 2 years in the field of oncology, haematology, palliative care or cancer controlknowledge of the potential psychosocial and information needs of people affected by cancer and understanding of the issues associated with cancer controldemonstrated ability to practice within an evidence based framework, and participate in continuous quality improvement activitiesHighly Desirable:demonstrated counselling experience via the telephone or face to face and or post graduate qualification in counsellingpost graduate studies in oncology, haematology or palliative careexperience in the provision of phone and/or face to face evidence based information and supportThe role is being offered as a part time position at 0.8FTE.
