Our main programs are Foster & Kinship, Wee Care Residential and Altheas Community Hub, from which we deliver a range of services.Althea Projects Foster and Kinship Program is a foster and kinship care support service for children who are subject to departmental intervention.We are looking to appoint a second Team Leader for our Foster and Kinship Program on a permanent full-time basis.Our Team Leaders provide leadership, support, and direction to our Foster & Kinship case workers to meet the programs outcomes and to ensure high quality support is delivered to Foster & Kinship Carers.As a Foster and Kinship Team Leader you will be responsible for:Providing line management and supervision to Foster & Kinship Caseworkers and other staff as required.Providing high level, complex case analysis and management support to all staff.Supporting a range of intensive in home educational, mentoring, and coaching strategies and plans with caseworkers to support foster and kinship carers.Implementing internal audit and continuous improvement processes for the program under the direction of the Program Manager and Quality and Clinical Governance Manager.Overseeing and monitoring document lodgement processes between Department of Child Safety and program including licensing, compliance and carer assessments.Ensuring all staff are compliant with organisational licencing and auditing process, organisational policies and procedures and legislative requirements of the program through monitoring and supervision practices.Organising and managing AFKP events including but not limited to events for carers and children, multiagency events, and inter-agency meetingsAssisting the Program Manager with development and ongoing review and updates of Practice Manual.Assisting the Program Manager with the development of relevant program reports including but not limited to incident reporting, compliance and nominee reports.Actioning all critical incidents in accordance with Althea Projects policies and procedures and legislative requirements. This includes receiving verbal reporting of incidents from staff and providing advice on reporting and responding to critical incidents.Actively participate in the 24/7 on call phone support roster and determine escalation pathways to the Department and to Program Manager and / or including Senior Leadership for serious and critical incidents.Identifying and coordinating staff training under the direction of the Program Manager.Actively participating in and providing leadership across team activities eg. Staff meetings, planning days, training, supervision, inductions, probation and annual appraisals.Providing leadership in ensuring a service culture, partnership and client centric approach is applied to the program.Working in accordance with all relevant standards and legislation including Child Protection Act 1999, Child Protection Regulation 2023, Child Safe Organisations Act 2024, Fair Work Act 2009, WHS Act & Regulations 2011, Information Privacy Act 2009, Privacy Act 1988, Human Rights Act 2019, Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, HSQF Standards and licensing requirements.Actively contribute to maintaining a culture which values health, safety and wellbeing with a focus on psychosocial wellbeing of staff.In return, we offer you the following:An opportunity to help change livesSupportive management and teamSCHADS Award Level 6 wages; and 5 weeks annual leaveAttractive salary packaging up to $15,900 p.a.Employee Assistance ProgramMonday to Friday working pattern, with occasional out of work hoursHow to ApplyPlease submit your resume together with a succinct response to the selection criteria (2 pages maximum), providing examples of relevant knowledge, skills and experience.Applications will close at 5.00pm on 17 June 2025, however we retain the right to start screening and interviewing any suitable candidates prior to this date.Selection Criteria:Bachelor Qualification in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or similar with a minimum of 2 years leadership / supervisory experience.Demonstrated high level knowledge of the fostering, child protection or out of home care sector and the issues facing carers and children and the impact of trauma.Demonstrated high level skills, knowledge and experience in the areas of child development, abuse and/or neglect and fostering and kinship care, trends and theories relevant to the provision of services to families and children who are needing access to safe, appropriate and inclusive services.Proven aptitude in positively building and maintaining workplace relationships, the ability to engage positively with self and others.
