Provides support and communicates necessary information to patients, peers and providers regarding status and processes of referrals and appointmentsMinimum QualificationsFormal Education Required:High School diploma or equivalentPost High-School level coursework in healthcare or related field preferredExperience & Training Required:One (1) year of experience in a Medical Office/Registration/Billing setting to include:Experience with insurance payers, front desk registration duties or related i.e. Medical Assistant, Biller, Registration staff.ii. Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) systemComputer experience proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferredOther Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:Ability to manage conversations with third party vendors and insurance payers, on behalf of the directed patient care, to assist in timely and accurate servicesAbility to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and to work reliably and with professionalism in a high-volume, high-demand medical environmentProficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and e-mail. Prefer skills in using referral software, using health plan web sites and familiarity with electronic medical recordsAbility to perform in a team-based environmentDemonstrate skills in interpersonal communication to effectively interact in person and over the telephone with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnelExcellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a teamAbility to interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding for their needs for self-respect and dignityAssumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the Summa Health CommitmentsAble to consistently demonstrate excellence in and adherence to the attendance policy, timeliness and reliabilityFollow and implement all policy and procedures up to and including HIPAA and medical record confidentialityLevel of Physical Demands:Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequentlyProlonged sitting.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled$19.04/hr - $22.85/hrThe salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.
