To meet this demand, our dedicated team must operate with strong collaboration and shared purpose. The Senior Officer role will play a key part in uniting the team and driving our success and will be involved in decision-making and the teams future with leadership.While formally reporting to the Team Leader Compliance, youll play a pivotal leadership role within the teamoffering coaching and mentoring to peers while continuing to manage your own investigation case-load.38-hour week, with monthly RDO.This position works one in four weekends (at additional penalty rates) as part of the rotating team roster and will provide general supervisory support to other Civic Services Authorised Officers on duty that weekend.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate animal complaints, including but not limited to, minor and serious dog attacks/rushes, barking dogs, wandering dogs, dogs off lead, nuisance cats, faeces, animal welfare, unpermitted livestock and other animal related matters.Inform and educate the community on responsible pet ownership including service of notices, warnings, infringements and launching prosecutions with our Prosecutions Team under relevant legislation and acts such as~Domestic Animals Act 1994.Amenity Local Law 2019.Protection of Cruelty to Animals Act 2019.Provide direct supervision, coaching and mentoring to Animal Management Officers and support a strong team culture that thrives.Support the relationship and management of Councils service contracts for animal pound and after-hours collection services.Support project management of the 4-year Domestic Animal Management Plan and deliver meaningful benefits to the community to improve responsible pet ownership.Support the review and improvement of standard operating procedures and work instructions.About YouYou have specialist animal investigations / inspector experience making you a leader within the team who will help elevate practices, standards and operational rigor to an industry-leading level.You have a passion for working with animals and fostering strong awareness and responsibility in their owners to achieve community harmony and safety.You have a passion for working with your fellow officers and building a strong, cohesive team culture where you rely on one another to deliver outcomes.You can exercise significant judgment and have the ability to select an appropriate course of action from a range of options.You deliver outstanding customer service even in challenging situations and can get the best out of situations by influencing and applying de-escalation tactics.Employment RequirementsCertificate IV in an enforcement-related field is desirable but not essential.Applicants must have the right to work in AustraliaCurrent Victorian Driver''s LicencePreferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check, Working With Childrens Check and Medical Check.Youll also need to be physically fit, as the role involves extended periods of walking.Want to know more?Please view theHow to applyPlease submit your application online via the Apply button by 22 June 2025. 11~59pm.
