It will change the way providers enter the system and is part of the Australian Governments new model for regulating aged care. Provider registration was introduced under the new Aged Care Act bill.More information about the Reform changes for providers is available on the Commissions website.To support this new function, the Commission is establishing a Provider Registrations team which will be responsible for assessing and registering entities seeking to deliver aged care services. The team will be founded from the current Provider Approvals team which currently assess applicants who seek to provide residential, home, and flexible care under the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act 2018.About the RoleAs a Registry Assessor you will be responsible for managing and conducting assessments of new entrants and registered providers as set out under the new Aged Care Act 2024, other relevant aged care legislation and the Commissions Regulatory Strategy.Reporting to Senior Registry Assessors/Team Leaders, you will rely on your skills and experience to interpret and apply complex legislation, Administrative Law Principles, proactively contribute to the safeguarding role of the aged care regulator, supporting transparent decision-making by assessing registration applications, registration renewals, registration variations and other registry activities.As a Registry Assessor you also support and guide other team members, fostering a collaborative team environment to achieve and meet performance targets.Position duties include, but are not limited to:Interpret and apply complex legislation, ensuring all evidence-based assessments and decisions are compliant with the new Aged Care Act and other relevant legal framework and statutory requirements.Proactively manage an allocated workload within case management systems with accuracy and within agreed timeframes. Track progress to maintain up-to-date records and support business outcomes.Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of processes and guidance material, under direction, ensuring alignment with federal legislation and organisational standards.Engage and communicate professionally and clearly with applicants, registered aged care providers, internal stakeholders, other government departments, and members of the public regarding the registration function.Actively participate in ad-hoc or planned projects and collaborative efforts aimed at improving assessment accuracy, efficiency and processes.Actively engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and adapt to ongoing changes in the aged care sector.Perform other duties as required, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the team, in alignment with the evolving needs of the role and regulatory environment.Position DetailsSalary offered will be between $86,204 - $93,226 per annum depending on skills and experience.
