We are committed to ensure that all our people feel respected and participate safely within a work environment without aggression, sexual harassment, discrimination, and racism.Where you''ll be workingHornsby - Northern Sydney Local Health DistrictWhat You''ll Be DoingThe primary purpose of the Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Counsellor is to provide evidence based assessment, information and treatment for clients who attend all of the D&A centres (Hornsby, St Leonards, Ryde or Northern Beaches).This role will involve a stepped care approach with brief interventions, comprehensive assessment, initiating and managing planned treatment options, consultation and referral to other agencies.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following CriteriaConsistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.Recognised qualifications suitable for a mental health professional, such as Psychologist or Counsellor, with current registration through the relevant Professional Board of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or eligibility for Membership for Social Workers with the AASW.
