We bridge the gap between industry needs and Indigenous workforce participation through tailored, impactful programs.We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Lead to lead the delivery of two of our key defence programsthe Army Indigenous Development Program (AIDP) and the Regional Education Development Program (REDP)based at Defence Establishment Berrimah in Darwin.This role blends hands-on leadership of a multidisciplinary team with strategic business development, offering a rare opportunity to make a measurable impact while shaping the future of Indigenous education and employment pathways.About the RoleProgram Delivery (approx. 3 days/week):Lead, manage, and support a team of mentors, trainers, tutors, and admin staffOversee daily operations of the AIDP and REDP to meet Army and ESI standardsCollaborate with Army staff and ESI leadership to ensure smooth program deliverySupport and mentor recruits and staff to foster personal and professional growthContribute directly to the delivery of training and mentoring componentsEnsure compliance with VET and Defence training standardsBusiness Development (approx. 2 days/week):Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with ESIs missionBuild strategic partnerships with government, Defence, and Indigenous communitiesSupport the growth of ESIs NT presence and capability offeringsWhat We''re Looking ForEssential:Proven leadership experience managing diverse teamsQualifications and/or experience in project management, business development, VET, or educationTAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalentStrong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skillsCultural competence and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesCurrent Drivers Licence, WWCC, and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)No criminal history that would impact ability to pass a police check.Desirable:Business development or program growth experienceDefence sector or structured operational backgroundBudget management and reporting capabilitiesLight Rigid Licence (or willingness to obtain)Why Join ESI?Contribute to a nationally respected, culturally empowering program.Work in a supportive and inclusive team driven by values and purpose.Be part of the successful transition of Indigenous youth into the ADF.Opportunity to be involved in other programs and opportunities with ESITo ApplyIf you are passionate about mentoring and excited to making a meaningful impact on the lives of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, we would love to hear from you.
