DeadlyScience is seeking a highly skilled Head of Partnership & Fundraising to drive our mission forward by building strong, ethical collaborations and securing vital funding.This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships and philanthropic relationships. Working closely with our CEO and broader leadership team, you''ll be instrumental in diversifying our revenue streams, expanding our network, and ensuring lasting impact for Indigenous learners through our impactful programs like DeadlyScience Pathways and DeadlyScience Club.Key ResponsibilitiesAs our Head of Partnership & Fundraising, you will:Lead Partnership Development: Identify, secure, and nurture meaningful relationships with corporate, government, academic, and community partners, fostering long-term, mutually beneficial collaborations.Drive Philanthropy & Fundraising: Spearhead efforts to grow philanthropic support from major donors, trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals, overseeing donor stewardship and engagement strategies.Develop Strategic Growth: Create and implement comprehensive partnership and fundraising strategies aligned with our mission and vision for sustainable growth.Manage Financial Oversight: Be accountable for securing $4 million in annual philanthropic and partnership income, with a focus on diversifying funding sources and developing a robust multi-year funding pipeline.Collaborate Internally: Work cross-functionally with program, impact, operational, and finance teams to ensure seamless alignment of partner engagement with organisational needs.Future Team Leadership: As DeadlyScience grows, build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team, potentially including Fundraising and Marketing Managers.What You''ll BringWe are looking for a highly motivated individual with:Proven experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships within the Australian not-for-profit or philanthropic sector.A strong track record of securing and growing funding from diverse sources, including success in winning government and philanthropic grants.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including preparing compelling proposals, reports, and presentations.Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.A deep understanding of Indigenous education, STEM equity, and ethical partnership building.A commitment to social justice, equity in education, and the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.What We OfferWorking at DeadlyScience means contributing to meaningful, purpose-driven work that advances educational equity. Please address each point in your application.Proven Experience in Strategic Partnerships: Demonstrated experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships within the Australian not-for-profit or philanthropic sector.Successful Fundraising Track Record: A strong track record of securing and growing funding from diverse sources, including corporates, philanthropists, and foundations, with successful grant writing experience (government and philanthropic grants).Fundraising Principles and Reporting: Strong understanding of fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and impact reporting.Communication & Engagement: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience preparing compelling proposals, reports, and presentations, and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.Cultural Capability & Commitment: A deep understanding of Indigenous education, STEM equity, and ethical partnership building, with a commitment to social justice, equity in education, and the empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Ability to embed cultural safety and sensitivity into partnership and fundraising practices.Leadership & Initiative: Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.Relevant Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification in business, marketing, communications, not-for-profit management, or a related field.Prior Leadership Experience: Prior experience in a leadership or head-of-department role, ideally with experience managing or mentoring fundraising and/or marketing professionals.Sector Familiarity: Familiarity with STEM education and/or Indigenous education contexts.CRM & Digital Skills: Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage partnerships and fundraising activities, and/or an understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools.Indigenous Governance & Protocols: Knowledge of Indigenous governance frameworks and cultural protocols.Further Training: Additional training or certifications in areas such as fundraising, communications, leadership, public speaking, or strategic relationship management.How do your skills match this job?How do your skills match this job?Sign in and update your profile to get insights.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
