The EC approach supports children aged 0-9 with developmental concerns, delays, and/or disabilities.What does this role look like daily?This role focuses on supporting First Nations children aged 09 with disabilities or developmental delays empowering their independence, community inclusion, and overall quality of life.Youll also:Build strong, respectful relationships with First Nations families, ensuring their voices and preferences are at the forefrontUndertake observations of a child in their natural environment (face to face and/or remotely via video conference, where applicable) to assess their functioning and support needsSupport First Nations families to establish meaningful goals & aspirations for their child and family and track progression toward goalsProvide community connections and linkages to mainstream services in the local area to improve childrens access to the right supports and meaningful social participationWork within the framework of the Best Practice Guidelines in Early Intervention.This role is based in Sydney and involves travelling across the area to engage with families and communities in their own homes.About You:This is an Identified Position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only, under Section 14D of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.Wed love to hear from you if you:Have experience working with First Nations children and familiesUnderstand child development (09 years)Know and are connected to local First Nations communitiesAre confident in building community networks and service pathways.Canpromote a culturally safe and supportive work environmentAboriginality confirmed by a common seal and a reference from an Aboriginal organisation or community group.Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood or Allied Health is desirableUnderstanding of child protection principles andKeep Them SafeValidDrivers Licence (P1 minimum)WWCC & NDIS Worker Screening CheckFull Australian working rightsWhy work for us?We are a leading disability service provider in NSW, ACT & QLD, providing services and support for people with disability, their families, and carers.
