Senior Officer Construction Lending SolutionsAdd expected salary to your profile for insightsAs Australias premier Alternative Asset Manager since 1952, our culture combined with our commitment to service and our customers has seen La Trobe Financial grow to over $20 billion assets under management and trusted by over 100,000 customers globally.At La Trobe Financial, we dont just offer financial solutions, we build futures.The OpportunityAs part of the Risk and Governance division of La Trobe Financial, your role will be to assist in monitoring risks within a construction lending portfolio and aid in the management and/or restructuring of loans which relate to delayed or stressed construction projects.Your primary role will be to drive value through supporting the active management of the Construction Portfolio which will involve the monitoring and management of a portfolio of higher risk exposures requiring liaison with external parties including: borrower/developers; building contractors; related professionals (including valuers and quantity surveyors); and other lenders (second mortgage financiers) together with internal partners and stakeholders.The role will also require providing support and guidance to the Construction and Development Team.As part of your role, you will be expected to build balanced and respectful relationships with our borrowers, while also ensuring that the interests of La Trobe Financial and its investors are appropriately considered and upheld in a fair and professional manner.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitoring construction loans and taking necessary and timely action where required.Liaising with borrowers to obtain documentation regarding the current status and proposed completion strategy for a construction project.Monitoring outstanding loans and liaising with borrowers to rectify any loan arrears.Identifying borrowers that may be experiencing financial difficulty and ensuring that appropriate assistance is provided in a timely and legally compliant manner.Ensuring prompt, open communication is maintained with borrowers, solicitors, mortgage insurers and other third parties.Reporting to key Executives, financiers and investors in relation to complex matters.Undertaking first-line risk management activities to ensure continued quality of processes and procedures.Provide updates on the status of construction loans to the Investor Team.Adhering to La Trobe Financials People Leader Fundamentals.Supporting the EGM Head of Development Finance Solutions, with ad hoc activities and requests.About YouYou will have a background in construction and development financing (or advice to the sector) including the remediation of stressed and distressed loans (both insolvency and non-insolvency related).Experience in a similar role within the Financial Services sector is highly advantageous (minimum 5 years).Tertiary qualification in a finance or banking and finance discipline is highly advantageous.Experience with construction lending is highly advantageous.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Relevant industry experience together with AML awareness, NCCP and Privacy Act.Excellent negotiating and decision-making ability.Remain calm in a frequently-pressured environment.Ability to multi task and self-manage.Strong customer service focus, empathy and understanding.Employee BenefitsWere all about balance delivering great work and enjoying the journey.
