A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.About the OpportunityJoin our Quality team in Osborne, SA, as an experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Senior Technical Officer on the Collins Class Submarines Program. The NDT Senior Technical Officer will be responsible for completing NDT activities as part of third-party inspection requirements and the review of quality documentation on the Collins Class Submarines.ResponsibilitiesKey areas of work performed include:Perform NDT in accordance with nominated specifications, codes and/or work instructions and ensure results are communicated without delay.Ensure all work allocated is performed as efficiently as possible and within start / finish times nominated.Ability to comprehend and resolve NDT process issues.Interpret system schematic drawings and documentation to confirm the use of correct procedures by production tradespeople during testing.Provide NDT consultative advice, as appropriate, to production and engineering staff on new and existing design work.Ensuring the accuracy of work completed and the formalisation of this through signed reports/documentation.The key responsibilities of this role include the need for modifying or creating new work methods in line with changing demandsby working in consultation with the NDT Team Lead. The majority of work is required to be performed in Adelaide, South Australia during scheduled submarine maintenance periods, however there may be a need to travel overseas or interstate to support maintenance when required and as directed by Quality Management.About youEssentialNDT Qualifications Level 2 (AINDT or Equivalent) PT, MT, RT, UT, PAUT & TOFD.SA EPA License to operate Ionising Radiation Apparatus and license to handle Radioactive Substances.Conversant with manufacturing, fabrication and Quality control methods involved in large/complex projects.Able to work in a Confined Space Environment.Climbing (stairs and ladders).High level of communication skills and report writing.Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.DesirableNDT Qualifications Level 2 ET, VT & CR/DR (AINDT or Equivalent).NDT Qualifications Level 3 (AINDT or Equivalent).White card.EligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
