Our Financial Services client is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Systems Programmer with a background in IT Security for a permanent role based in Melbourne, Victoria. The position may require full-time presence in the office, with a hybrid work arrangement (2 days remote) negotiable over time.Note - SEEKING A TREE CHANGE & SUNSHINE:Ideal candidates are from Australia; however, applications from US, UK, and European nationals are welcome.Relocation to Melbourne and visa sponsorship can be discussed for the right candidate.Remote working on a contract basis may be considered during onboarding and sponsorship.Only candidates with the requisite skills and experience listed below should apply. We are NOT looking for Mainframe Programmers/Developers.Role Purpose:The successful candidate will provide IBM Mainframe systems programming and security technology services, including strategy, design, development, delivery, and maintenance of solutions to meet business needs.Key Competencies & Experience:15+ years of relevant business experience in Mainframe environmentsStrong knowledge of the Technology IndustryExperience as a Security Analyst (Mainframe - RACF)z/OS software installation and configuration experienceAdvanced Assembler skillsProficiency in JCL (Job Control Language)SMP/E and REXX experienceRACF Security expertiseSAS programming skillsExperience with ISPF and ISPF Dialogue Management ServicesFamiliarity with SDSF (Spool Display Search Facility)Programming experience in Python, PL/1, and CobolExperience with Storage Management (DASD and Tape), DB2, and Performance MonitoringKey Non-Technical Capabilities:Relevant tertiary qualification highly regardedKnowledge of the Banking IndustryAudit, Risk, and Controls backgroundAbility to build effective relationships and implement technical strategiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsUse technical expertise to define and implement solutions supporting business needsSupport and guide solution design in line with strategiesEngage with system users to identify improvements for efficiency and integrationProvide technical assurance for project componentsDevelop technical evaluations and strategiesContribute to project delivery and technical assessmentsAssess impacts of technology changes on IT systemsUnderstanding of risk management, controls, and operational proceduresKnowledge of policies, regulations, and obligations related to technology and business operationsNotes:Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Start date is likely around August 2025.An attractive AU$ salary package is on offer, commensurate with skills and experience.If you believe this opportunity is suitable for you, please press "Apply" now --> #J-18808-Ljbffr
