We ask that all staff read and understand the Code and model the behaviours that are expected of us.YOUR ROLEThe Manager, Compliance and Policy is a full-time, ongoing position responsible for leading a small team of compliance professionals in overseeing MACS'' Enterprise Compliance Framework. The role ensures alignment with legal and regulatory obligations, including ISO 37301:2021 standards. Working cross-functionally, you will embed a proactive and risk-aware compliance culture, develop and maintain enterprise-wide policies, and foster strong relationships with key regulator.This role would suit an experienced compliance leader with a strong foundation in risk management, regulatory compliance, and policy governance. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to manage complex compliance frameworks in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.WHAT YOU WILL DOLead the documentation, maintenance, and implementation of the MACS Enterprise Compliance Framework, ensuring alignment with best practice standards, including ISO 37301:2021 Compliance Management Systems.Oversee the MACS Compliance Register, identifying, documenting, and managing key legal and regulatory obligations across the organisation.Facilitate compliance risk assessments to prioritise the management of obligations and ensure clear accountability and effective control measures.Oversee the development, implementation, and periodic review of MACS-wide policies, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and appropriate governance processes.Deliver and support compliance training and communication initiatives, enhancing stakeholder awareness of regulatory changes and emerging compliance risks.Develop and maintain constructive relationships with key regulators, including the Victorian Catholic Education Authority (VCEA), ensuring responsive and transparent compliance engagement.Manage, support, and mentor a team of compliance professionals, fostering a collaborative environment that builds capability, encourages professional development, and aligns with MACS strategic priorities.ABOUT YOUDemonstrated experience in compliance risk management within large, complex organisations, ideally including leadership of a compliance function or team.Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and standards, including ISO 37301:2021 Compliance Management Systems.Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to influence at all levels and foster effective cross-functional collaboration.Proven capability in policy development, compliance training, and facilitating compliance risk assessments across diverse operational settings.Highly developed organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple complex initiatives, and meet tight deadlines.Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, business, risk, compliance, or governance; professional membership or accreditation (e.g., RMIA or ACI) is highly regarded.A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to integrity, innovation, and cultivating a culture of compliance aligned with MACS values of Integrity, Respect and Excellence.HOW TO APPLYPlease refer to the position description for further details about the role and the Key Selection Criteria.Click APPLY to submit your application.
