Every day, EssilorLuxotticas 190,000 employees in 150 countries work towards a common mission: to help people see more and be more.We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic full-time Field Technician based in our Sydney head office to support our Australian customer base and national team. The role includes installation, maintenance, and repairs of our range of diagnostic instruments, software, and consultation room furniture. Training customers on the use and maintenance of their equipment is a key component, allowing the successful candidate to share their professional skills and experience. This role also involves demonstrating our equipment at workshops and industry exhibitions.About the RoleInstallation of ophthalmic equipment and associated systems, software, and hardware.Quality assurance testing, preventative maintenance, and onsite repairs.IT support and installations (online, phone, onsite).Trade exhibition/conference booth setups and pack-ups, occasional weekends or after hours, including travel.Preparation and dispatch of goods for customer orders and demonstrations.Assisting technical team members with various operations.Logging faults and reporting to management or manufacturers.Managing instrument loans, returns, and repairs.Submitting detailed service reports.Coordinating with engineers, technicians, office, and warehouse staff, including interstate teams.Occasional manual movement of heavy equipment on-site.Flexibility with work hours and travel is required.Our ideal candidate will have:Proficiency in IT and basic electronic circuitry troubleshooting.Experience with Windows OS and small LANs.A Restricted Electrical License (REL) or ability to obtain one.Mandatory AU drivers license.Forklift license (training provided).ESTSA Level 1 qualification (training provided) is advantageous.High attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Note: The equipment is generally heavy; physical fitness, strength, and health are important for effectiveness in this role.To apply, please submit your cover letter and resume.As an inclusive, team-first company, we value diversity and are committed to equal opportunity employment regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or life stage.
