We have an exciting internal role with Programmed for an experienced and proactive Engineering / Site Superintendent to lead our operations at the Loy Yang Coal Mine, near Traralgon.This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys hands-on site leadership, and is passionate about driving safety, operational performance, and workforce engagement.Key Responsibilities:Lead day-to-day operations at the Loy Yang Coal Mine, overseeing maintenance and field executionSupervise a team of 68 Leading Hands/Supervisors and manage up to 90 trade resourcesEnsure strict compliance with safety and HSEQ standards while fostering a strong safety culturePlan and execute maintenance and operational works within schedule, budget, and quality targetsResolve site issues proactively and drive team performance through leadership and coachingManage documentation including reports, timesheets, pre-starts, and headcount trackingBuild strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers, supporting delivery and growthCollaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to implement best practiceWhat Were Looking For: Mechanical Engineering or trade background 10+ years of experience managing maintenance workforces in industrial or mining environments Strong leadership skills and experience in a unionised environment Proven ability to manage crews on active sites with a focus on safety and performance Understanding of mining planning, scheduling, and resource management SAP knowledge highly desirable (Time Confirmations, Notifications etc) Experience with belt and idler conveyors, hydraulics, or welding is a bonus Proactive, organised, and solutions-driven with strong communication skillsEmployee Benefits: Competitive market salary with performance based incentives Retention bonus opportunity (10% of base salary annually) Relocation support available for the right candidate Paid parental leave and great discounts with selected retailers Employee Assistance Program with tailored wellbeing initiatives Long-term career potential with internal growth opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr
