Our Drivers (support workers)providea responsive, customer focused service by driving a fleet vehicle to provide a direct transport service to meet the specific needs of St John Ambulance Qld CommunityServices consumers.Due to Program Growth weneed to boost ourteam with additional casual Community Transport Drivers in our Hervey Bay / Maryborough region.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide a high standard of customer serviceProvide safe transportation of clients, including securing wheelchairs / scooters and checking seatbelts are secureComplete and return documentation (vehicle reports, transport schedules and drivers envelopes)Ensure clients are escorted to their destination and provided safe entry to their home or place of residenceMaintain awareness and apply knowledge of the safe operation of mobility aids and vehicle hoists training will be providedReport immediately any accident, emergency or serious mechanical / equipment faultDaily vehicle maintenance, cleaning and refuelingUndertake office duties and promotional activities as requiredAbout youA safe driver who is committed to providing a quality personal serviceSolid communication skills capacity to liaise professionally with a varying client base including clients with disability and aged persons related conditionsIT skills, literacy and numeracy and money handling experienceAbility to acquire extensive knowledge of the St John Ambulance Qld products and services rangeDemonstrated effective interpersonal and written communication skills; and ability to quickly establish rapportThe ability to work independently and as a team memberProven ability to manage schedules and tasksCommitment to Workplace Health and Safety, Diversity and Equal OpportunityYou must be able to provide evidence of holding full COVID-19 vaccination.Licenses and RegistrationsA current open Queensland driver licence (LR advantageous), plus safe driving skills and recordA current Queensland Transport Driver Authorisation (DA) (or ability to obtain one)Current Provide First Aid and CPR certificate (or ability to obtain one)Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain one)Current DisabilityWorker Screening (or ability to obtain one)Current Blue Card - Working with Children (or ability to obtain one)St John Ambulance Qld members must have a zero-blood alcohol concentration and must not smoke or take illicit drugs during operating hoursSt John Ambulance Qld members should not take medication that may affect their duties during operating hoursAn attractive hourly rate plus employer superannuation.Charity and Not-for-Profit sector tax benefits via salary packaging.This role will be based in Hervey Bay or Maryborugh and is an integral part of a busy and dynamic officeNormal hours of operation areMonday to Friday 6am to 6pm (rotating roster consisting of 7.6-hour shifts)ApplicationsIf you are interested in applying for this exciting role, send apply to this Seek ad with your Cover letter and your Resume.
