The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmanias largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold dor.It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.Fantastic career opportunities available for a suitably qualified Mechanical Tradespersonto join our team at Rosebery in Tasmania.Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is responsible to ensure maintenance tasks and activities are carried out in accordance with planned maintenance schedules and undertake production activities as required.Key Accountabilities:Maintain all areas of the fixed plant including crushing, grinding, flotation and filtration; this includes servicing, fault finding, repair and commissioning.Identify root cause of failure and generate improvement strategies.Identify and evaluate non-conformances and provide support to develop corrective actions for continuous improvement to aspects of plant operations, safety, maintenance, equipments utilisation and effectivenessAssist with the implementation of management systems for processes, with the objective of minimising process variation and exceeding customer requirementsProvide skills, knowledge and experience to assist in the development of surface preventative maintenance schedulesCarry our asset repairs and upgrades daily and in shutdowns, as preventative maintenance and inspections, in particular with issues that affect metallurgical performanceUse of computerised maintenance management systems (SAP).Support the Plant Outages as requiredActively participate in the Maintenance team to support and promote agreed decisions of the team.Contribute positively and actively to promote an accountable culture within the mill maintenance teamQualifications & CompetenciesTo be successful, you will have an unwavering commitment to safe work practices, a team player with a strong motivation and passion to be part of our mining family at Rosebery.Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification (Essential)Forklift Licence (Desirable), EWP & CN Crane Tickets(Desirable)Drivers licence.Minimum of 3 years post Trade qualification experience in a mining environment or in a heavy industrial environmentDemonstrated experience maintaining, processing fixed plant equipment (including diagnosis and fault finding)Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.Excellent problem-solving skills, time management and attention to detail.Exposure to mining systems and applications, experience using SAP (desirable)A proven history with safe work practises, with the ability to identify and address unsafe practices.What we offerA safety-first cultureA workplace that fosters diversity and inclusiveness, and supports our people with the systems, skills and behaviours required to live our values.Family friendly rostersReward and Recognition SchemeBonus'' including short term incentive programCorporate Discount Programs & Novated Leasing Utilize a range of discount programs (health insurance, travel).Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes free confidential counselling, wellbeing services.Relocation supportWho we areFounded in 2009, MMGs vision is to create a leading international mining company for a low carbon future.We mine to create wealth for our people, host communities and shareholders with an ambition to grow and diversify our resource, production and value, by leveraging Chinese and International expertise.MMG has a global presence, owning and developing copper, zinc and other base metals projects across Australia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Peru and Botswana.Our aim is to create a workplace that encourages diversity and inclusion and supports our people to grow.We are guided by our values; think safety first, respect each other, work together, do what we say, and we want to be better.Headquartered in Melbourne, we are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx 1208) with an international shareholder base.As a company, MMG strives for the best in safety, environmental protection, production standards and overall operational excellence.
