Wheelchair Basketball Australia are dedicated to the development, promotion, and administration of wheelchair basketball at all levels. Their mission is to provide opportunities for people of all abilities to participate in and excel at wheelchair basketball, fostering an inclusive and supportive community. The Role: Reporting to the Board, the Executive General Manager will be a pivotal, hands-on leader responsible for the overall operational management and strategic growth of WBA. Strategic Leadership & Organisational Management contribute to the development and implementation of Wheelchair Basketball Australia''s strategic plan and provide effective leadership fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culture. Board liaison and compliance maintain regular communication with the Board and continue the strong focus on governance, legal, risk, financial and HR compliance. Sports Administration & National League Management - oversee all aspects of the planning, organisation, and delivery of the National Wheelchair Basketball League. Partnership Development & Stakeholder Management retaining, building and identifying new partnerships with corporate sponsors, government agencies, community organisations, and philanthropic bodies to generate revenue. Financial engagement maintain a strong focus on the financial strength and sustainability of the organisation. Background skills and experience: The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong background in sports administration, a proven ability to cultivate and manage both sponsorship and stakeholder relationships, and a passion for inclusive sport. Successful applicants will have the following: Proven experience in a senior sports administration or management role, preferably within a national sporting organisation or similar. Previous successful leadership of a small to medium organisation with complex requirements and challenges. Ideally within a not-for-profit organisation and reporting to a Board Strong track record in developing and securing successful partnerships, sponsorships, and funding from diverse sources. Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external parties. Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget development, financial management, and reporting. Outstanding communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and negotiation skills. Demonstrated commitment to the principles of inclusivity, diversity, and athlete welfare.
