1. Objectives of the PositionThis full-time role reports to the Charter Operations Supervisor and is part of the Operations Team, working Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The Yard Person is primarily responsible for ensuring buses are cleaned and prepared according to the required standards. The Yard Person may also be rostered to drive buses occasionally, based on operational needs.2. Key Performance Requirements and DutiesEnsure the depots bus fleet is well presentedbuses washed, tyres painted as required.Check and maintain fuel, oil, water, and AdBlue levels in buses; ensure buses are cleaned (interior and exterior).Manoeuvre and park buses safely within the yard according to designated bays.Accurately complete all recording procedures, including fuel, oil, bus change, and time records.Monitor for vandalism and report suspicious damage to supervisors.Assist in identifying BOAS compliance issues and report through the appropriate department.Liaise with the workshop regarding defected or service-due buses; arrange for changes if needed.Perform general yard cleaning and maintenance duties related to facility management, depot infrastructure, and groundskeeping.Maintain and update all electronic destos.Conduct vehicle movements and depot transfers.May be required to coordinate and/or provide bus replacement services in the field.May be required to marshal mass movements.Identify and address unsafe or unhealthy conditions, practices, or behaviors in the workplace, following CDC policies for reporting and escalation.If driving, follow the PD for a Bus Driver, outlining key duties and responsibilities.Follow instructions and use safety equipment provided.Report hazards and incidents.Come to work in a fit state, free from fatigue, drugs, and alcohol.Observe all company working practices and carry out reasonable other duties if requested.3.
