Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.AML Compliance Officer; Serve as the designated AML Compliance Officer for Australian operations, maintain and develop the AML/CTF Framework and all associated policies, procedures and controls for Australia and New Zealand, and monitor, train and supervise OrbitRemit''s compliance operations.Risk Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework that aligns with OrbitRemits business objectives.Risk Identification & Assessment: Identify and assess risks related to financial transactions, regulatory compliance, cyber security, operational processes, and other areas impacting the business.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that OrbitRemit complies with all applicable regulatory requirements in the jurisdictions where it operates, including anti-money laundering (AML), counter-financing of terrorism (CFT), consumer protection, privacy and data protection regulations.Risk Mitigation: Design and implement risk mitigation strategies including contingency planning, and internal controls.Risk Reporting: Regularly report to the executive team and board of directors on the status of risk management activities, emerging risks, and the effectiveness of the risk management framework.Crisis Management: Lead the organizations response to significant risk events, including managing communications and recovery efforts.Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing compliance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Engineering, Product and Operations, to ensure integrated risk management across the organization.Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and partners, to ensure transparency and maintain strong relationships.Skills, Experience & EducationEducation: Bachelors degree in law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A masters degree or professional certification is preferred.Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in compliance and risk management, preferably in financial services or fintech, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Extensive AML/CTF policy and operational experience is critical for this role.Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to financial services and fintech, particularly in the areas of AML/CTF, privacy, AFS Licensing and data protection.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.Leadership: Proven leadership abilities, with experience in building and managing a team of professionals.Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts to non-specialists and senior stakeholders.Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with risk management software and tools, and an understanding of cyber security risks.Integrity: High ethical standards and a commitment to upholding the integrity and reputation of OrbitRemit.We know that great candidates may not tick every box on a job description.
