This position plays a crucial part in the business by providing technical leadership and supporting junior engineers, while actively contributing to the design, development, and deployment of a cutting-edge road safety system, ensuring it meets the highest standards for real-time hazard detection, worker protection, and automated safety insights.This is not just another engineering roleits an opportunity to work on a truly greenfield project, giving you the chance to influence the architecture and foundational technology of a next-generation safety platform that will transform safety outcomes for road workers globally. Your work will directly support Acusensus global strategy, driving innovation in intelligent safety systems and contributing to a rapidly scaling international business.What Youll DoDesign, develop, and improve safety-critical systems that detect road hazards in real-timeOwn and contribute to codebases for both embedded systems and cloud servicesBuild infrastructure for automated testing, deployment, and reliabilityAutomate the configuration of cloud and edge devices using modern DevOps toolsIntegrate data streams from wearables, base stations, vehicles, and sensors to deliver actionable safety insightsTest and validate systems in the field, including on-site roadside deploymentsCollaborate across teams (Operations, Sales, Product) and support onboarding of new clientsParticipate in code reviews, mentoring, and technical documentationResearch and adopt emerging technologies to continually improve system performance and reliabilityWhat You Bring5+ years experience in software engineeringStrong coding skills in C# or C++, with a willingness to specialise in C#Hands-on DevOps experience (especially for embedded/IoT systems)Experience across the full development lifecycle, from solution design to deploymentCollaborative mindset and strong communication skillsA self-starter attitudewilling to roll up your sleeves and work across technical boundariesHold full working rights in AustraliaBonus Points ForExperience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, real-time software, or sensor technologies (e.g. cameras, radar)Familiarity with AWS, Linux, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, or networked system configurationBackground in computer vision, machine learning, or real-time data streamingFrontend/backend web development experience (e.g. dashboards, APIs, relational databases)Systems architecture or prior leadership of technical initiativesWhy Join Us?At Acusensus, youll be working on life-saving technology that makes a real-world impactprotecting road workers and improving safety outcomes through intelligent infrastructure.
