Work Type: Permanent Full TimeLocation: EmeraldDepartment: Infrastructure & UtilitiesRemuneration: Stream A, Level 7: $107,253.24 - $112,867.62 per annum + superannuation (5% Salary increase from mid-July 2025)Central Highlands Regional Council is currently seeking a Coordinator for our Workshops.In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient day to day delivery of workshop operations, and ensuring all regional workshops deliver a consistently high level of customer satisfaction, effective and efficient repairs and maintenance for all CHRC Fleet assets. The Coordinator Workshops will be responsible for ensuring that all workshop activities andworkers are in compliance with necessary Acts, Legislation, industry codes of practice and or guidelines including but not limited to National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, Work Health and Safety, Original Equipment Manufacturers design and specifications (OEM).In this busy role, your will support the organisation by:Develop and implement robust short and long term efficient and effective maintenance strategies for all Council plant, equipment and all regional workshop facilities.Develop and implement effective and compliant annual inspections for all NHVAS accredited truck fleet to ensure compliance with NHVL (National Heavy Vehicle Law) and to maintain Councils NHVAS accreditation.Develop and implement strategies to resource services and repairs utilising CHRC regional workshops and external service providers with a focus on reduced downtime and increase fleet availability to internal clients.Develop and implement effective utilisation of all vehicles and plant allocated to workshops to achieve efficient and effective client service for CHRC regional areas.Ensure compliance with HVNL (Heavy Vehicle National Law) and WH&S Act, Legislation, plant risk management and OEM specifications.Assist in the development and implementation and ongoing improvement of workshop job cards to improve written work instructions and work as completed service and repair records for all CHRC fleet assets.Assist in the development of work as completed reports for all regional workshops to provide regular updates to Fleet Management.Assist in the development of overdue service and open work order reports to assist maintaining compliance with WHS and manufactures specifications.Responsible to ensure adequate resources including labour, consumables and parts have been forecast and coordinated for scheduled services and repairs in workshops regionally.Responsible to provide estimated forecasted out of service time periods for repairs to clients to assist with client work planning.Responsible to ensure all forecast times are met or communicated to clients when forecast times are affected due to additional works required and delays with parts etc.Contribute to improving fleet assets availability through effective reporting, programming and coordination of scheduled or reactive services and repairs.To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:Mechanical trade or equivalent background.Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.Demonstrated and current knowledge/understanding of the requirements and compliance with regard to annual inspections, scheduled and reactive maintenance for NHVAS accredited vehicles.Demonstrated and current experience in the leading large or multiple workshop/s.Extensive and current experience coordinating scheduled and reactive maintenance activities for a diverse fleet including but not limited to heavy trucks, construction type equipment, agricultural and mowing plant.Extensive and current experience leading a successful workshop team in multiple work workshops.Extensive and current experience working with software systems related to fleet type asset service and repairs.Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Email and preparing written reports.If this sounds like you, apply now!Working For Central Highlands Regional Council Has Its Benefits.We are a progressive region, committed in creating opportunities for all.
