On-site | Open to either Full-Time or Part-Time min 3 days a weekAbout UsWestern Private Hospital (WPH), located in Footscray, is a boutique private hospital servicing the West of Melbourne with the provision of acute services, which has 62 inpatient beds.We are fully equipped for a comprehensive range of surgical procedures including general, bariatric, oral max, colorectal, endoscopy, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, IVF, plastics, vascular and urology, as well as diagnostic and interventional cardiology and high dependency services.WPHs facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Stay Unit, Day Oncology Unit, Overnight Ward for CCU, HDU & Surgical patients, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, PET Centre and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services.About the RoleWe have a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join us and work as part of our close knit and collaborative financial team as an Assistant Accountant, based on-site in Footscray, reporting to the Finance Manager. The role will be very hands on and support the day-to-day accounting functions of the hospital. As a key contributor to the finance team your responsibilities and duties will include (but not be limited to):The main duties will include, but are not limited to Balance Sheet reconciliationsIntercompany, Bank and Credit Card reconciliationsMonth end accruals, end of month processes & EOFY reporting and reconciliationsStatutory compliance and reporting requirements ATO, GST, PAYG, Superannuation, FBTCalculation & lodgement of BASMaintenance of Fixed Asset RegisterProcessing AR invoices and following up on outstanding debtorsSupporting AP and other finance functions as requiredAssisting with budgeting and variances analysisAssisting with audit requestsProvide general finance support as required by Finance ManagerAbout YouYou will be an experienced and competent Assistant Accountant who is able to work autonomously. You have excellent communication skills, customer service approach, and an ability to explain the financial results to non-finance stakeholders. You will have a positive and upbeat attitude.
