AMSANT is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in the Northern Territory and advocates for equity in health, focusing on supporting the provision of high quality comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal communities.AMSANT Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) programs are incorporated into the work of the SEWB team and includes support for services focused on culturally responsive trauma informed practice, suicide prevention and post-vention, workforce development, research and policy.Salary packaging up to $15,899.94 pa.Employer Superannuation contribution.6 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loadingPersonal/carers leave up to 15 days per year.10 Days per year Study leave can be negotiated.Professional Development opportunities up to $3,000 per year10 days Ceremonial LeaveAccess to a free Employee Assistance Program for work and non-work relatedEx-Gratia leave of 3 paid days during Christmas close down (excl. casuals)Contract Duration: Fixed Term to 30 June 2026Contract Type: Full-Time, 38 hours/weekWork hours: Monday-Friday 08:00am - 04:30pmLocation: Darwin or Alice Springs (negotiable)Salary: $105,579.22 - $118,384.65 pro-rata p.a plus superannuationApplications will be reviewed upon receipt.Role Description:This position will work closely with the Suicide Story Aboriginal Advisory Group (SSAAG) and the SEWB Team to coordinate the delivery of the Suicide Story program and respective projects and activities that deliver culturally responsive suicide prevention training and capacity building to Aboriginal communities and service providers in the Northern Territory.Responsibilities:Build and maintain a collaborative and outcome-oriented partnership between AMSANT and the Suicide Story Aboriginal Advisory Group (SSAAG) through the coordination of scheduled SSAAG meetings and actioning items as required.Coordinate Suicide Story project workshops and activities in collaboration with SSAAG to ensure it is achieving contractual obligations and program outcomes. This includes documenting of workshops, reporting on funding deliverables and other relevant activities.Promote and support the delivery of Suicide Story Program through stakeholder engagement and building relationships with the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS), community leaders and key organisations across the NT.Support the Suicide Story Facilitators to ensure they are prepared and able to deliver workshops in community in a culturally safe and appropriate manner.Coordinate the Train the Trainer workshops and provide any other supports required to build and retain the pool of Aboriginal Facilitators engaged to deliver the Suicide Story workshops.Provide advice on emerging issues and strategic opportunities that can support the objectives of the Suicide Story program and partnership between AMSANT and SSAAG by developing project plans, providing written reports and other high-quality documents as required.Where required facilitate training such as Suicide Story and other SEWB training programs.Be an active team member to work collaboratively within the AMSANT SEWB team to contribute to appropriate team activities and supports as required.Undertake other tasks as required by SEWB Manager.Attend AMSANT meetings and other meetings related to your role as required.Selection Requirements (Qualifications & Attributes)ESSENTIALWork experience and/or qualifications in one of the following disciplines: social and emotional wellbeing, suicide prevention and mental health; community development; social work; alcohol and other drugs; or counselling.Possess knowledge of Aboriginal cultures, and histories and an understanding of the impact of colonisation and how it relates to current social, emotional and health issues for Aboriginal communities, families, and individuals.Demonstrated appropriate interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills, including the ability to engage and maintain relationships with a range of health services, management, health professionals, elders, and community members.Ability to lead the development and facilitation of professional development activities, training and learning outcomes to Aboriginal audiences and the ability to present the program in public forums.Possess high-level project management and problem-solving skills that contribute to planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects and initiatives.Ability to prepare high quality written reports, visual diagrams and presentations to diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to undertake desktop research and culturally safe engagement with Aboriginal organisations, leaders and communities to inform the evidence-base to improve the quality of programs and program outcomes.Highly proficient in relevant information technology systems (eg, Sharepoint, Office 365, MS Word and Excel) and capacity to proactively develop proficiency in new technologies and software.Ability to travel to remote locations by plane or vehicle on a regular basis.DESIRABLEExperience working in an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation.Qualifications in project management and/or suicide prevention.Additional information:Original qualifications must be available for viewing and copies to be kept on personnel file.Applications must have an Ochre Card and a Current Police Check and/or ability to obtain these prior to commencement.Applicants must be able and willing to undertake travel throughout the NT and Interstate (sometimes as a light aircraft passenger) and possess a C class Drivers Licence.How to Apply:Your application should consist of a resume and cover letter addressing the above selection criteria.Please address your cover letter to theHiring Manager detailing why you wish to work at AMSANT, and the attributes, skills and experience you would bring to the role.If you have any queries or would like any additional information about this role, please contact the HR team at HR@amsant.org.au .Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.Unlock job insightsSalary match Number of applicants Skills matchYour application will include the following questions:Are you currently eligible to work in Australia?
