We are a subsidiary of Hanwha Corporation, South Koreas largest and most influential defence corporation.Your New RoleThe Supervisory Systems Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of complex systems, products, and processes. This role provides technical leadership, expertise, and oversight while guiding a team of system safety engineers. The primary focus is on implementing effective safety measures, optimizing system reliability, and ensuring regulatory compliance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide expert technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the team of systems safety engineers, enhancing their capabilities.Define and develop comprehensive safety requirements, ensuring seamless integration into design and development processes.Identify potential hazards and conduct in-depth risk assessments (e.g., Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).Develop and execute test plans to verify and validate safety measures and compliance with regulatory standards.Conduct safety analyses such as Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), System Hazard Analysis (SHA), Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA), Operating and Support Hazard Analysis (OSHA), preparing detailed safety documentation including safety case reports and risk assessments.Investigate accidents, incidents, or near-miss events, recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Oversee system safety engineering activities, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations, and company policies.Collaborate with engineering teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to maintain high-quality safety deliverables.Ensure that hazards in concept designs are identified early and mitigated during the development phase.Develop and maintain safety artefacts such as System Safety Program Plans, Hazard Analysis Reports, Safety Case Reports, and Hazard Logs.Monitor implementation of mitigation strategies and support risk analysis efforts.Conduct regular progress meetings, safety reviews, and technical assessments.Maintain and manage Project Hazard Logs and ensure timely closure of Product Safety Reports.Generate safety lessons learned communications for incidents, near misses, and hazards.Other duties as required by the supervisor.Note: The Supervisory Systems Safety Engineer may be required to travel to subcontractor and test locations within Victoria, interstate, and internationally.About YouYou are a technical leader with strong expertise in systems safety engineering, possessing the ability to mentor, guide, and influence a team.
