Our mission is to ensure all women in our district have access to the care that they seek, providing central point of contact for a comprehensive wrap-around service. Our goal is for consistent care, no matter the location and we are the first LHD across the state to implement such a service. We are currently building a team of passionate and motivated clinicians, technicians and support staff who share our mission to provide choice and improved health outcomes for the women of Western NSW.The Clinician Nurse Specialist role is suited to a clinician who wants to make a real difference to the access to care and support for women in WNSWLHD exploring or exercising their right to self-determined care.The role has a prominent primary care focus, with weekly clinics in Dubbo and outreach services to the communities West and North of Dubbo. As a complete wrap around service, you will facilitate supports for everything involved in accessing this service, from physical to mental health, to personal and community education and building a collaborative multidisciplinary network for pre and post care. You will be involved in certain medical procedures and care of outpatients, but not surgical and inpatient care.Rolling out a new model of care, you will be given a great deal of autonomy to advance and improve a comprehensive service across the district, working to the top of your clinical scope and further utilising your leadership skills. You will have a history or proven passion within the sexual/reproductive health space and preferably some experience in community care to bring a considered perspective for successful service implementation.This role reports to the womens health senior manager, part of a tight team who collaborates well together. Your colleagues will include a midwife, social worker an Aboriginal health practitioner, pharmacy technician and administration support. It is predominantly a Monday to Friday role, with regular hours and no shiftwork.As the first LHD to implement this approach to care delivery you will need to be an effective stakeholder manager and be very well organised - keeping excellent records and high quality data to prove the service success. The role also requires some flexibility with clinicians transitioning into other related patient service within the divisions, if projected service usage is not met.Career paths include a direct entry into research and the opportunity to work on further innovative projects improving the care of people in our District.
