This is a rare opportunity based at our Product Development Centre in Campbellfield. You''ll be playing a key role in supporting the development of the manufacturing processes for Fords future generations of vehicles.You''ll be joining an experienced and supportive team of around 40 people, and you''ll be reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.This role will be at the forefront, helping to develop the manufacturing processes for our most innovative upcoming models, tackling challenges related to new propulsion systems, advanced electronics, and novel vehicle architectures. This role offers a Hybrid work arrangement.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with cross functional teams (Product Development, Assembly Plant Implementation Teams, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs, Program Management, etc) to ensure safety, cost, timing and quality targets are achieved.Use virtual tools to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for assembly operations. Ensure product designs adhere to design for manufacturing requirements (for example identifying potential clearance issues or ergonomic challenges for assembly operators).Develop Failure Mode Avoidance plan/documentation and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence of problems for future programs.Write/modify/maintain process sheets and develop a manufacturing sequence of assembly during the vehicle development phase.Lead identification, resolution, and closure of manufacturing feasibility issues.About you:Minimum 3 years working in an engineering (preferably automotive) environmentBachelors degree (or equivalent) in EngineeringHighly motivated, with integrity and initiative, and a team player.Strong problem-solving skills, with a data driven approach.Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Excellent organisational and planning skills with an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure.Ability to build good working relationships and communicate with all levels of the business (from many cultural backgrounds).Experience with utilizing 3D CAD (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, 3DX, NX or equivalent) to simulate and analyse assembly processes, as well as the Microsoft suite of tools.Understanding of 6 Sigma methodology and failure mode avoidance principles an advantage.Flexibility is required for meetings with overseas colleagues that may occur outside standard working hours, and occasional overseas travel.Why Ford?
