We are seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to work on fire protection designs from concept through to construction, delivering high-quality, compliant, and performance-driven solutions across commercial, healthcare, education, and retail projects. This role is based in Sydney, where youll work with our multidisciplinary team to create safe and sustainable buildings that push industry standards forward.As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will:Work on designs and documentations of fire protection systems, including wet and dry systems, fire detection, alarm systems, and hydrant and hose reel networks, from concept through to construction phase.Collaborate with architects, project managers, builders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver fully integrated design solutions.Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), and local authority requirements.Conduct site inspections and liaise with contractors during construction to ensure quality and compliance of fire protection installations.Support risk assessments and fire engineering strategies to ensure life safety and property protection.Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver innovative, tailored fire protection solutions that meet both regulatory and performance objectives.To thrive in this role, youll bring:Educational Background: A tertiary qualification in mechanical or Fire Protection engineering (or related discipline).Experience: 2-4+ years of fire protection engineering experience within the Australian Building Services industry, with demonstrated expertise in delivering projects from early concept design through to construction completion.Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fire protection systems design (wet, dry, and detection), hydraulic calculations, coordination with other services, and an in-depth understanding of relevant codes and standards (AS 2419, AS 2118, AS 1670, BCA/NCC).Attributes: Excellent problem-solving skills, clear communication, attention to detail, and a collaborative, proactive approach to project delivery.Why ADP?Founded in Australia in 2011, ADP Consulting is a sustainability-led engineering consultancy known for delivering technical excellence and innovative design solutions.
