A self-starter you will ensure legislative and policy compliance and be the point of contact for staff payroll queries.This is a newly created position with Payroll being brought in-house, this position willoversee the transition.Key responsibilities of the role include:Processingand maintaining the fortnightly end to end payroll function for all employees including ad-hoc payments.Administering employee benefits such as Salary Packaging.Maintaining employee records including new starters, terminations, leave records, time sheets and all other adjustments.Calculating and processing entitlements such as annual leave, sick leave, long service leave in line with legislation, organisational policy and holidays applicable to different states.Perform year end processes and preparation of payment summaries/ income statements.Lead the development, documentation and implementation of payroll procedures and system improvements.About youA process orientated and solutions focused Payroll Officer you will have:A minimum of 5 years experience in Australian payroll.Sound knowledge of relevant Australian payroll legislation, awards, and taxation requirements.High attention to detail, strong analytical, problem solving skills and numerical accuracy.Ability to liaise effectively with employees at all levels and resolve complex/ sensitive issues in a timely manner.Experience with a Not-for-Profit organisation, knowledge of Xero Payroll system and experience in Salary Packaging is preferred but not essential.Culture and BenefitsAt Mental Health First Aid Australia we embrace our differences as we know that diversity helps us to innovate and make the biggest impact possible.
