This project is set to become one of Australia''s significant contributors to the global phosphate supply, with first production targeted for late 2025.The OpportunityWe are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Contracts Manager to oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of mining operations. This role is responsible for managing supplier and contractor relationships, negotiating, and administering contracts, and ensuring compliance with legal and operational requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract law, procurement, and mining industry practices. This is a full-time Fixed-term Contract with a duration of 3 to 6-months and a potential extension, on an 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster, preferably from Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, or Brisbane.Your key responsibilities will be:Manage the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and close-out of contracts.Develop and implement contract management strategies aligned with project and operational goals, ensuring contract compliance and risk mitigation.Lead tendering processes and evaluate bids for mining and other services, equipment, and materials.Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.Provide commercial advice and support to Team Managers and Senior Leadership.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and industry standards.What you''ll bringA tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable e.g., Bachelor''s Degree in Law, Business, or Engineering.Significant experience in contract management, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and commercial risk management.Experience working in remote or international mining operations.Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.Why join?You will join a dynamic and forward-thinking leadership team as they embark on the development of a new phosphate mining project in the Northern Territory.
