By enabling customers to store energy in their batteries when its cheap and export it to the grid for wholesale feed-in rates of up to $19/kWh, rather than a few cents, Ambers software is completely changing the economics of home batteries and helping to accelerate the energy transition. Customers can choose to set and forget with AI-powered automation or take control of their battery at any time if they want to, unlike with a traditional virtual power plant.Amber for EVs is our EV smart charging solution that is helping more EV owners save on their EV charging costs by using more cheap, renewable energy - whether thats their own excess solar energy, or renewable energy thats abundant in the grid during the day time. You will be contributing code to support our hardware integrations, and well as communicating with both vendors and our customers as part of second-level technical support.This is an exciting opportunity for a junior or graduate engineer looking to apply and grow their technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.Key ResponsibilitiesCode contributions to support new and existing hardware integrationsCreating integrations, onboarding, documentation and support experiencesSupporting our Operations team members to answer Smartshift queries, and working to prevent issues from becoming tickets in the first placeMonitoring, assessing, solving, and responding to escalated technical tickets relating to the Amber battery, solar and EV products.Integrations outage first responder.Qualifications and SkillsAt Amber, we want to hire self-starters who are eager to learn, and are comfortable working in a fast moving environmentYou have a positive mindset: equal parts curious, collaborative, and can-do.
