It provides peer recovery support services using a proprietary recovery management software platform. Our electronic health record (EHR) recovery platform provides instant, centralized access to resources, provider care, and peer recovery support for individuals with substance use disorder.Position Summary: This position will be responsible for the maintenance of the electronic health record platform, capable of managing, maintaining, and enhancing our service offerings to the recovery community and service providers. The Lead Software Engineer will design, develop and maintain a scalable platform.This position requires the ability to work with a small cross functional team and internal stakeholders. Must be willing and capable of being a solo engineer with a growth mindset and a willingness to create a best-in-class engineering team over time.Education/Experience: Bachelor''s degree from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Responsibilities:Experience & Tooling 5+ years experience with:Building mobile-responsive web applications using React and TypeScriptDesigning and implementing backend services with Node.js, Express, and TypeScript, primarily using REST APIsWorking with PostgreSQL or another relational database, with fluency in schema design and performance tuningDeveloping and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure using Terraform on AWS, including ECS, RDS, S3, and CognitoImplementing secure, scalable authentication and RBAC systems, leveraging AWS Cognito and best practices in access controlBuilding and deploying in a modern CI/CD environment (e.g., GitHub Actions) with automated tests, containers, and hands off deploymentsWriting end-to-end (Playwright), integration, and unit tests (Jest) to ensure reliability and regression coverageManaging observability and performance using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and GrafanaUsing Git confidently in collaborative, trunk-based development workflowsCompetencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following.Technical Strategy & Leadership: Defines and champions the technical direction of the team. Promotes discoverability, maintainability, and hand-off readinessBonus Experience:Experience working in a regulated industry, with familiarity around HIPAA and other privacy/security frameworksExposure to data engineering tools like Snowflake or SparkKnowledge of healthcare data standards, including FHIR and HL7Experience implementing or supporting clinical workflows within healthcare softwareFamiliarity with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and infrastructure patternsUnderstanding of healthcare billing systems and data flowsSupervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Work Location: This position is primarily remote from either the state of Minnesota or Ohio.
